Summary:
Funded by Andreessen Horowitz and NEA, Onshape is the only full-cloud 3D mechanical CAD system. Onshape was built from the ground up, not only to provide a better professional CAD tool experience, but also a securely managed single source of truth for engineering data, that is accessible anywhere via a web browser, phone, or tablet.
Responsibilities:
The Strategic Accounts team is responsible for cultivating and maintaining the business relationships between Onshape and their more focused accounts. Generally beginning post-sale, the Technical Services Engineer will work directly with new clients to provide training, best-practice workflows, drive adoption, and eliminate obstacles. Success for this role will be measured in terms of customer retention, engagement, and satisfaction. This is not a quota carrying position and some travel will be required.
Key responsibilities of the Technical Services Engineer include:
- Effectively manage your time to support concurrent client engagements
- Identify and solve customer facing issues
- Develop a deep understanding of the technical capabilities of Onshape
- Quickly establish credibility and trust with CAD users and business leaders
- Lead effective group and individual training sessions
- Represent the voice of the customer to other departments within Onshape
- Work cross-departmentally with sales, support, and product
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in mechanical engineering or another technical field
- Minimum of 7 years 3D Mechanical CAD technology experience (CATIA, SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, NX, etc)
- Experience as a CAD user with production responsibilities strongly preferred
- Experience providing training or technical support services to CAD clients a plus
- Confidence and character to maintain composure in challenging situations
- Proactive and resourceful individual who can take the initiative to get things done
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
